500 dollars is a lot. I agree. It is crazy how marketing massage can work and then there is not much value in it. It is a sad story of creator's economics.

I did one course for becoming a trainer and what I value the most about it was the friendships I found with others. We are still in touch and support each other. So, that could be the advantage of taking some of these courses, to meet others.
